The Kindersley Summit is a strenuous day hike, but the views from the summit will make up for anything endured on the trail. First you travel through a valley, then switchbacks take you across avalanche paths through more forest and finally you emerge at an alpine meadow.

You'll have magnificent views of the Purcells, the Continental Divide and the Kootenay River Valley. It takes approximately 3-4 hours to reach the summit.

• Drive a little over 9 km from the Kootenay National Park west gate at Radium.
• On the right hand side there is a small parking lot.
• The trail starts on the opposite side of the road across from the parking lot.
• Approximately 10 km to the summit.
